Troy Gent BIO

Troy Gent Bio

I was born in The Dalles, Oregon on 28 October 1978. I lived there for approximately 4 years before moving to Manti, Utah with my family. My father was a coach and a teacher and so we moved on occasion to follow where his next coaching job was. After spending 3 years in Manti we moved to White Swan, Washington where we remained for 4 years after which we relocated to Beaver, Utah where I finished high school.

In 1997, after graduation I entered the United States Marine Corps where I served honorably for 4 years. After two deployments and a marriage to my wife Ami in 2000 I transitioned out of the Marine Corps in 2001 to pursue a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. In 2005 I was hired as a UPS drive in Cedar City, Utah where I remained for two years. In 2007 I decided that my service in the Marine Corps had not been completed the right way and so I rejoined as a commissioned officer for a 4 year contract. I moved my family to Virginia and then to California where I trained for a deployment to Afghanistan. In 2011 I separated once again and pursued a career with the United Parcel Service.

In 2014 life would change once again as my wife and I decided to move our family to Hawaii just because we wanted to and that is where we stayed for two years. In June of 2016 Ami, my daughters and I relocated to St. George, Utah to provide better schools for our daughters and live closer to family although Hawaii was an amazing place to live and something we will always cherish.
